Gift of Listening
Day 4 – Thankful for the Gift of Listening
“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” — James 1:19 (NIV)
Listening is one of the most powerful acts of care we can offer. Often, those we care for don’t need advice or solutions — they just need to be heard. Each story, memory, or quiet pause holds sacred value. When we listen with patience, we give others the space to feel seen and understood.
In a world that moves fast, the simple act of listening becomes a ministry of love. It reminds others they matter — and it reminds us that God listens, too.
Caregiver’s Prayer:
“Lord, help me listen with both ears and heart open, hearing not only words but the needs beneath them.”
